Where ADEVIA searches for tenders
ADEVIA runs one plain-language search across several official public procurement sources in the EU and the UK, and across EU grant calls. This page explains what each source is, what it covers, how ADEVIA searches it and where the limits are.
The sources
TED – Tenders Electronic Daily
TED is the online supplement to the Official Journal of the EU for public procurement.
- Covers
- Notices from EU member states and EEA countries for contracts above the EU thresholds.
- How ADEVIA searches it
- Through TED’s official search API, using full-text search across the notice text.
- Limits
- Since Brexit, UK notices are no longer published on TED. They are covered by the two UK sources below.
Find a Tender (UK)
The UK government’s service for higher-value public procurement notices. It replaced TED for the UK after Brexit.
- Covers
- Higher-value public procurement notices in the UK.
- How ADEVIA searches it
- Find a Tender’s public API has no keyword search. ADEVIA therefore keeps its own rolling index of roughly the last 90 days of Find a Tender notices, updated daily, and searches that index.
- Limits
- Notices older than the index window are not included. When the date range you ask for goes beyond the index, the app says so.
Contracts Finder (UK)
The UK government’s service for public sector contracts in England, including lower-value contracts.
- Covers
- Public sector contract opportunities in England, including those below the higher-value thresholds.
- How ADEVIA searches it
- Live, using Contracts Finder’s official keyword search.
- Limits
- Coverage is England-focused; higher-value UK notices are found through Find a Tender.
EU Funding & Tenders Portal
The European Commission’s portal for EU funding programmes.
- Covers
- Grant calls from programmes such as Horizon Europe, the European Defence Fund, Digital Europe and LIFE.
- How ADEVIA searches it
- Grant calls are searched only when your query asks for grants or funding – for example “cybersecurity grants”. A normal procurement search is not mixed with grant calls.
- Limits
- These records are EU-wide and carry no country or CPV code, so country and category filters cannot narrow them.
What is not covered
- National e-procurement portals outside the UK that publish contracts below the EU thresholds. If a contract appears only on such a national system, ADEVIA will not find it.
- Ukraine’s ProZorro system.
How results are ranked
Results are ordered by relevance to your query. The score combines:
- Keyword match – how well the notice matches the words and phrases you used.
- Category match – overlap with the relevant CPV codes.
- Recency – newer notices rank higher.
- Value fit – how close the contract value is to the value you asked for.
- Country – whether the notice is in the country you asked for.
- Deadline runway – how much time is left to respond.
Notices that match your query directly are shown first. Notices that only share the same CPV category are labelled as related opportunities and shown separately, rather than mixed in with the direct matches.
Why one search instead of four portals
Each portal has its own search form, filters and quirks, and some offer no keyword search at all. Checking them one by one means repeating the same query several times and comparing the results by hand.
With ADEVIA you write the query once, the way you would describe it – for example “open defence tenders in Germany” or “radar tenders past 10 days”. The search understands countries, date windows such as “past 30 days”, values such as “over €5m”, deadlines such as “closing this month”, CPV codes, quoted phrases, buyer names after “from”, and regions or cities such as Bavaria or London. Results from all applicable sources come back in one ranked list, which you can filter by stage (such as tenders or awards) and by source.
You can save tenders and searches, email a tender summary to confirmed colleagues, or download it as a Word file.
Frequently asked questions
- Which countries are covered?
- EU member states and EEA countries through TED, and the United Kingdom through Find a Tender and Contracts Finder. EU grant calls from the EU Funding & Tenders Portal are EU-wide. National portals outside the UK that publish only below-threshold contracts are not searched.
- Can I search in my own language?
- Yes. Write the query the way you would describe what you are looking for, in any language. Category (CPV) matching also helps find notices whose wording differs from yours.
- Why don't I see a UK notice from last year?
- Find a Tender has no keyword search in its public API, so ADEVIA searches its own rolling index of roughly the last 90 days of Find a Tender notices. Older notices are not in that index, and the app tells you when your date range goes beyond it.
- Are grants included?
- Yes, EU grant calls from the EU Funding & Tenders Portal – for example Horizon Europe, the European Defence Fund, Digital Europe and LIFE. They appear only when your query asks for grants or funding, such as "cybersecurity grants", so ordinary procurement searches are not mixed with grant calls.
- Can I open a specific notice I already know about?
- Yes. Paste a TED publication number or a UK Find a Tender OCID into the search box and ADEVIA goes straight to that notice.
